Ever since she was five years old, Diana had been drawing fantasy creatures, dragons, monsters and winged women. Influenced by Italian Renaissance paintings, Greek and Roman Mythology, Russian folk art, the Pre-Raphaelites, Art Nouveau and nineteenth century children’s book illustrators, Diana developed a strong love for fantasy art. As an independent artist, she spends a great deal of time creating fantastic imagery for the children’s and young adult book markets. She combines traditional painting mediums such as oils, acrylics and watercolors with digital painting techniques to create a very unique and highly rendered style. Diana is best known for her drawings of imaginative creatures and exotic female characters.
She graduated from California State University Northridge in 2007 with a B.A. in Illustration and Graphic Design. After finishing College, Diana worked for an indie film company for one year as a DVD and movie poster designer. Not completely satisfied with a graphic design career, she decided to devote all her time to pursing her passion in book illustration.
